St. Augustine’s School celebrated its much-awaited Annual Sports Day on 6th December, 2025 with great zeal, energy and enthusiasm. The preparation for this grand event began well in advance on 17th November, with practice sessions that instilled discipline, teamwork and a true sporting spirit among the students.

The celebration commenced with an impressive March Past by all the Houses, featuring both the Senior and the Junior Squads, which reflected unity, precision and house pride. This was followed by a series of spectacular drills performed by the students of Classes 5 to 10, showcasing excellent coordination and discipline. The highlight of the cultural display was the mesmerising pyramid formation by the Class 10 students, which earned thunderous applause from the audience.

The program was graced by our distinguished Chief Guest, Mr. Royston Dias, an accomplished sportsperson and a proud alumnus of St. Augustine’s School, and our revered Guest of Honour, Rev. Bishop Thomas D’souza. Their presence added grace and inspiration to the occasion.

A wide range of track and field events were conducted for the students of Classes 5 to 10, giving every child an opportunity to participate and excel. The events included Shot Put, High Jump, Long Jump, and various races such as 100 mts, 200 mts, 400 mts, 800 mts, 1500 mts and 3000 mts. The students also participated enthusiastically in the Cross Country Race and Relay events. The excitement reached its peak during the novelty event (Tug-O-War), for division I, where students displayed remarkable strength and teamwork.

To make the celebration even more memorable, special races such as the Parents’ Race and the Ex-Students’ Race were organized, which brought smiles, laughter and a spirit of togetherness among the school community. A major attraction of the day was the Interschool Relay, in which Nazareth Convent School, Notre Dame School, and St. Augustine’s A and B Teams competed with great competitive spirit and sportsmanship.

The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony, where the winners were honoured for their outstanding performances. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour encouraged the students with their inspiring words, motivating them to strive for excellence not only in sports but also in life.

The Annual Sports Day, 2025 was a grand success, leaving behind cherished memories of teamwork, determination and joyful celebration. It truly reflected the spirit of St. Augustine’s School — striving for excellence in every field.
